You've hit on something important here: perspective. We don't have to deny the horrors of the past by acknowledging the victories we've achieved. That also doesn't mean we don't have more evolving to do. But I would imagine that people with a hopeful outlook accomplish more than those with a defeatist one.

Yes.. evolving to a place of less resentment about the past mistreatments is so important. Our ancestors taught us to maximize personal and group development in the face of inequities. Thats the path they took. Focused on family and individual growth. That’s the path to prosperity of spirit and material well-being. I believe going forward it’s vital we humbly recognize the monumental sacrifice of all our shared American ancestors Jews Irish Asian Blacks Hispanic European etc. I’m convinced they hoped we their progeny could live in peace w ourselves and one another.

This is truth. Observant people of all races know it’s the truth. Why do so many whites and blacks deny that which is so obvious?

Although challenging sometimes going “outside the box” to today’s political and media driven messaging is the right thing to do.

As always well written and articulated!

Well reasoned and even tempered arguments in Garry's post, anchored in logical and factual discourse. In direct contradistinction to any of his potential detractors who filter their reality behind blind rage, utilizing a cornucopia of fallacious assertions.
